Hi! I’m Renée. I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Washington. Now I reside in the sunny state of Florida! As much as I love sunshine, I still appreciate a rainy day. It’s the Pacific Northwesterner in me.
I have had a love affair with golf for almost my entire life. When I was three, I started swinging and at ten I was playing in tournaments. Collegiately, I played at University of Idaho. Go Vandals! Right out of college, I turned professional and began my journey as a touring pro. Since then, I have played on the LPGA Symetra Tour, SunCoast Tour, CN Canadian Women’s Tour and have competed in numerous state opens. I have two professional wins and will always be looking for more. In 2014, I was a contestant and semi-finalist on Golf Channel’s reality series Big Break Florida: Amelia Island. I can’t express how grateful I am to play this game. It has taken me across the world, given me opportunity, grown friendships, and has shaped my character in so many ways. Golf is my first love. It’s my hope that I can kindle this love of golf with you through some basic instructional tips.
Growing up, I have always had a strong interest in beauty products. When I was 4, I remember going into my Mom’s makeup bag to find lipstick, eye shadow and blush. She walked in later to find the contents in the makeup bag smeared all over my face. I loved it and still do! Today, I enjoy getting all dolled up and finding new makeup and products for my palette. However, I’ve never been one to wear loads of makeup. Being from Washington, natural beauty is the norm. I am a big believer in ‘less is more’. By keeping it simple you can enhance your natural beauty!
Fashion has played a bigger role in my life since turning professional with golf. In 2010, I became a brand ambassador and face of a Seattle based company called Shi-Golf. Over the next couple years, I participated in photoshoots and did catalog modeling for them. During my time with Shi-Golf I was able to offer advice on clothing design and fabric implication. As a professional golfer, I learned that fashion plays an important role in how you present yourself. Presently, I am fortunate to be a brand ambassador for MyGolfCloset and Redvanly. MyGolfCloset is an online Canadian retail company who supply numerous fashionable golf brands. Redvanly is high performing modern line designed specifically for athletes. I am proud to align myself with these strong brands. Off the course I am a sucker for a good deal. Naturally, I am a bargain shopper! Some important attributes to me within fashion are color, versatility, soft fabrics and most of all comfort.
My closest friends know that I have an incredibly big sweet tooth. Don’t get me wrong, I do have healthy eating habits, but definitely can appreciate a good treat! Whenever I’m out at restaurants my eyes always gravitate first to the dessert section on menus. I indulge in cakes, cookies, brownies, pies, ice cream- you name it and I will love it! If you enjoy decadence like I do, you will most certainly enjoy the sweets recipes I will enclose.
